Double reading mammograms using artificial intelligence technologies: a new model of mass preventive examination organization

چکیده
Aims: The aim of the study is to justify possibility and effectiveness using software based on artificial intelligence technology for first interpretation digital mammograms while maintaining practice second description X-ray images by a radiologist.
Materials methods: A data set 100 mammography studies (50 Normal, 50 with signs malignant neoplasms Not normal) was processed registered in Russian Federation as medical device. ROC analysis performed.
Results: When 80.0% sensitivity: AI specificity 90.0% (95% CI: 81.7-98.3), accuracy 85.0% 78.0-92.0). 100% specificity: showed sensitivity 56.0% 42.2-69.8), 78.0% 69.9-86.1). 54.0% 40.2-67.8), 77.0% 68.8-85.2). Two approaches have been proposed that provide an autonomous AI. approach evaluate image higher than double reading radiologists, comparable level specificity. implies will determine category ("Normal" or "Not normal"), indicating degree its "confidence" obtained result, depending corridor into which predicted value falls.
Conclusions: Both use purpose are able diagnostic quality not inferior even exceeds it. economic benefit from practical implementation this nationwide can range 0.6 5.5 billion rubles annually.

متن کاملCost-Effectiveness of Double Reading versus Single Reading of Mammograms in a Breast Cancer Screening Programme
OBJECTIVES The usual practice in breast cancer screening programmes for mammogram interpretation is to perform double reading. However, little is known about its cost-effectiveness in the context of digital mammography. Our purpose was to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of double reading versus single reading of digital mammograms in a population-based breast cancer screening programme. METHO...
متن کاملA New Restricted Earth Fault Relay Based on Artificial Intelligence
The restricted earth fault (REF) relay is a type of differential protection which is used for detection of internal ground faults of power transformers. But, during external faults and transformer energization conditions, the probability of current transformer (CT) saturation increases. Thus, the spurious differential current due to CT saturation, can lead to REF relay maloperation. In this pap...
متن کاملReading Hal: Representation and Artificial Intelligence
In this chapter I wish to focus on Hal 9000. Rather than reading Hal as a Frankensteinian cautionary tale, a representation of our disquiet over the cybernetic blurring of the human, of our fear of an evolutionary showdown with increasingly autonomous technologies, I'd like to read Hal as a representation of the goals, methodologies and dreams of the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As a ...
متن کاملUsing Artificial Intelligence for Model Selection
We apply the optimization algorithm Adaptive Simulated Annealing (ASA) to the problem of analyzing data on a large population and selecting the best model to predict the probability that an individual with various traits will have a particular disease. We compare ASA with traditional forward and backward regression on computer simulated data. We find that the traditional methods of modeling are...
